K04sk Environment Tutorial 2 by k04sk K04sk Environment Tutorial 2 by k04sk
Here is a tutorial for another environment. Again my word is not the end all be all. This is just a way I tend to think and approach environments.

If it helps I will release a brush pack with my brushes that I currently use. I don't really think yall would need it , but if enough people say they want it then I'll upload it

Been learning a lot and practicing non stop! : )

until next time

-k-

sidenote: I wrote in the tutorial that you cannot polish a turd ( read the tutorial and you will understand the context of that statement) lol

however :iconiamnie: has showed me a link on myth busters proving otherwise > [link]

so i stand corrected lol :)

"These tricks won't help you if you still suck" - LMAO.

Your tutorials are great, and really informative! I'd love to see a tutorial specifically focusing on calm water sometime if you're up for it. Translucent textures of things under the water, rippling reflections and such x)

Your tutorials are amazing! I really hope I can dedicate myself and improve :) Thank you for showing us!
Btw, aside from everything that you explain in your tutorials; how is it that you manage for the perspective to be so real? I mean, do you study perspective first, u draw some lines, some vanishing points? Which perspective do you recommend to start off with easier things (I never really tried painting environments but i really wish to learn!)
thank you so much again! :)

Hey this is a great read and very insightful. I recently went to the GDC in Austin and a lot of the hiring directors told me to start pushing my environments. I always found them the most difficult things to do. These are helping me break them down into something that isn't as daunting.

I have a question regarding how you use the lasso tool. I've tried using it for the sharp edges, but it seems I'm not getting it right? Or not at all for that matter. (But maybe that's just me) I was wondering if you could go into detail or explain a little more on how you use it? Sorry ouo; I'm just curious as to how you manage to use this technique. /runs

That would be awesome.

I only have elements, and it gets a little annoying not being able to find any tutorials showing me what to do.

yeah it makes sense , i need break em up into smaller parts or something lol so that way u can just zoom in once and see it all. I would make it viewable at the actual size but then like it takes forever to load i think . I will have to look into it .

thanks for the kind words , I am glad you can learn from it!
