Perspective Template by k04sk Perspective Template by k04sk
So here is my perspective template as requested. Just open the psd file and drop into your painting . I usually keep all my perspective layers in a group/folder so I can turn em all on and off when needed. If it doesn't fit then just free transform , should be pretty straight forward

my teacher at CDA Jackson Sze taught me how to do this btw , so I credit him. I encourage yall to do it yourself and save the file , that way you will always have it.

My I ask why most of the roofs in the background area don't align with the perspective...are they wrong or is it simply because I don't understand perspective...?

Oh, the lines themselves don't have to align perfectly with lines in the image; it should be that so long as you draw a line from the vanishing point to it, it matches; the perspective grid is more like a guideline?

I'm not sure if that made sense.

Oh no I understand that, but if you look at the buildings at the back, all of their lines that move to the right are not aligned with the green lines

Oh, haha, completely missed that. I'm not the most observant one. Maybe those buildings are at an angle, so the face wouldn't be totally parallel to the building in front? I can only guess though, eh.

Dude I've been trying perspective, and so far 1 point is real easy to understand and even more when you execute it. I'M REALLY EXICITED to learn 3point....cant wait for that.

Useful tool, thanks. Question on perspective though, shouldn't the buildings in the background be slanted toward the vanishing point? Or no? (I'm still learning)

thanks for the kind words when u load my brush set , just look at the some of the early ones towards the top , i usually roll with those . Regardless I encourage you to explore all of them and find what ones you like , the ones that I may use may not be the best ones for you. So I am sure you are bound to find one that works for you . good luck

pretty good , such good talent coming from that area its nuts , and I always did the workshops when I could I can only image how big its gotten , I kind of started back in the day when it wasn't as popular

That's awesome to hear man! If you're ever back in SoCal you should definitely pay a visit! I'm sure everyone at CDA would love it. The one thing I love is how the school doesn't feel like a school. More like a home for like minded ppl. its very familial haha

yeah it doesn´t feel like a school , there are no grades , so its pretty much what you put into it , which i think is how most schools should be

This is -excellent-. Something like this seems incredibly helpful to quickly get the basic perspective lines in - especially when one of the vanishing points is off the canvas. Thanks for sharing the idea (and file!)
