Round 2 studies by k04sk Round 2 studies by k04sk
So furthering my exploration of Robh's approach to painting ( you can check here to see the first ones I did [link]) , I have found some interesting things about it that I think are quite efficient. I am not sure how to put it all in words. But it is definitely putting me outside of my comfort zone. Which is great

So I included the intial block out on my blog

[link]

This actually is kind of where I spend the most time thinking. It kind of hurts my head to think about all the shapes and how lighting affects it. Its kind of like being a mathematician . However, When I did get past that particular part . Everything felt rather easy and relaxing to do. I will have to do more studies of this. Anyway's enjoy

Wow, this is amazing line work... normally you seem a little more free-form but I guess you're awesome at both.

This reminds me a bit of Guild Wars: Nightfall. I love the texture of the arch; it feels like a mother of pearl inlay. Very much a favorite, and very inspiring!

This is amazing, congrats K04sk! I find perspective and vanishing points awful but you seem to have mastered them beautifully. Would you admit suggestions on the themes for your studies? :D

I am not sure I understand your question of "admit suggestions on themes" you can explain some more?

My bad, it is because of my not being an English speaker. I just wanted to know whether you would let us suggest different subjects for your studies. You said u would take up different themes in order to pratice (like the one you did with underwater). Do you know what I mean? Sorry again.

PD: by the way, I finally got a tablet!!! What would u recommend as the most basic tutorials as to get used to draw or paint with it? It is taking me some time though, but it is pure awesomeness :)

Ok, could you paint the surface of sci-fi different planets? :D Thanks for the link, Feng Zhu is amazing but I need to learn a lot before I can think of digital painting and so on, I just realised I've got a long path ahead: perspective and form, shading, planes, etc. Uff. Can I ask u another question? Did you have to learn industrial design in order to draw landscapes etc? Because I realised that, if I want to focus on landscapes, sci-fi, vehicles and stuff I need to really understand physics and so on. I saw Feng Zhu studied and provides a diploma on Industrial Design :O

I guesse Ill try a live stream where I paint planet surfaces.

You do not need industrial design , but it helps . If you have a solid understanding of perspective / lighting / form / value you can pretty much do anything. That is what Feng says . I believe this to be true also : ) . This stuff simply takes a lot of time to practice

thanks for the encouragement, I keep trying my best and actually I'm absolutely happy with my development although it is very slow. I think that true as well, hopefully =D Thanks for reminding me of the basics, I've divided my days so that I can keep studying my degree and keep on drawing as if I was actually studying it at university or an art school (perspective, figure drawing and form). It is a gift to have access to so much material such as your live streams or feng tutorials, I'd love to watch that planet's series :)
