This is just stunning. The atmosphere is so fresh and the rendering is amazing. Do you incorporate photos in your paintings? I know matte painters sometimes work with photos, too.
I only recently started painting landscapes and I'm delighted to see such professional pieces here on DA :)

yeah depending on the client / style / time , yes I do use 3d and photo elements when I can to speed up my process . Usually my personal stuff I like to hand paint everything . However , most client work they want it as real as possible , so its kind of hard not to . However , fundamental rules still apply a lot when using photo elements , hope that answers your question :)

And yeah, I've been taught incorporating photos into digital paintings is no joke - I have never tried it myself, though.
