There is a little tool for Windows users that can tell you how much time you spent on a picture. It cannot tell you that if you've already done the picture, but it will tell you that for all the picture you'll work on from now on.
It only works for Paint Tool SAI users, but can be extended to some other softwares.

Improving Your Art: Lesson Learned from PokemonI was on tumblr and I saw this really brilliant post by e1n so I figured I'd share it with you all. I'll link back to the original post at the end.
The recent ask about improving got me thinking, so I thought I'd share this with you guys.
Now, I'm gonna start with a very cliche thing, but improvement does take a long, long time. I was told by a teacher that if you notice improvement within a few days/weeks, that means you're still sucking hard, haha. Because when you're at a really really low skill level, it's much easier to improve, but once you're decent, it takes way longer to improve, and the journey gets harder.
Here's a good Pokemon analogy: When you're playing Pokemon in the beginning, it probably takes you a few minutes to level up from 5 to 6, but after you beat the Elite Four, leveling up from 55 to 56 takes goddamn forever. I've found myself in an art rut lately. Sure, changing style's fun and all, but it's also stressing and pretty damn annoying when you're so used to drawing in one style, never venturing out of your comfort zone. But other than that, I've been getting back some of the sleep I lacked during the graduation, some creativity and I'm almost ready to get back to work again!
I'll have to admit, I'm pretty relaxed now. And with all this non-stress time, I can finally start to work on some overdue things. What makes a woman real is simply being themselves. I, myself, am a large size, yet proud to be me.
Stereotypical woman are skinny with sizes 12 or lower sized clothes with lots of make up and a flirty smile. These stereotypical women are often in clothing designs and models, and even showed as sex objects.
Is this really the perfect life? Life with skinny people, no differences?
Automatically, when you think of big people, you may think of a lone female. Size, today, seems to matter. Not Skinny? No friends, no good clothes, no love, and can lead to eating disorders, and even suicide.

so I'm an admin over at this server and we just revamped everything, from the spawn, to the arenas, and much much more. The map is getting reset tonight so tomorrow, it's gonna be all set to start some pretty amazing stuff. It's got an RPG class system, arenas, PVP, and alot more stuff. The transit of Venus was today!
An astronomical event wherein the second planet in our solar system makes a journey across our view of the sun, blocking out some of its light.
The next transit of Venus will be in 2117.
Unfortunately, Seattle isn't exactly the best place for astronomy... Today was no different. Clouds, clouds, clouds. Some rain too. The usual.
But Seattle is a good place for technology... and in lieu of a telescope viewing party on the roof of the parking garage, my friendly neighborhood planetarium projected Venus' transit live from NASA onto the domed ceiling. Got to see it cross over the edge, and stuck around to watch it slowly glide across the sun while the professors fielded questions.
Seeing it through a telescope would have been better, but domed screens that come with knowledgeable professors are awesome too.

Question for Procaster usersHey so I was wondering something, I'd like to post a few drawing videos on Youtube again and thought that Procaster would be nice to record with, instead of finding another video-recording program with a good quality which is pretty rare. But, Procaster saves your recordings as a .mp4 file, and as far as I know you can't make this programm save your video as a .wmv file or anything else.
BUT, all the video-making programms I know (aka Sony Vegas and Windows Movie Maker) do not read .mp4 files. So I was wondering if you know any video-making programm that does read .mp4 files, or if it's possible for Procaster to save your recordings as a .wmv file or anything else? Or is it just not possible and I should find some other recording programm?
Sorry if this is confusing lol, my explaination skills are legendary..xD

All these username changes GUAHHHI do think dA had a good idea with this but DAYUM i'm going to get confused as hell with everyone changing names, even if it tells you who switched to what. I still remember them primarily by their old name and a month down the road, I'm gonna be all shades of derp trying to find someone that's changed names and I can't (or can't figure out who someone is because their name is completely different. This has happened alot to me already over the past 24 hours). Y U DO DIS. Also, I see another potential problem. Say someone gets into your account, whether it be a friend, family member or whatever, and changes your name to something stupid or offensive as a joke? You can't change back for 6 months so guess who got stuck with the name "pewpdik". I know it's a good idea in concept, but I can see this getting really abused and really really confusing down the road.

Unforgettable

is dedicated to anyone who has ever followed their dreams, to anyone who has ever taken a chance
In late 2010 I accepted a job as a concept artist at a local game company in Madrid,Spain. Not knowing much about the company or the people I decided to take a chance and go. Leaving behind my fellow artists , friends , family , and dance community I boarded a plane with 2 suitcases not sure when I would be coming back . From learning a new language , to getting accustomed to different cultures , everyday presented not only a new challenge, but a new opportunity to better understand myself and my art. From Morocco to Paris I was blessed with the opportunity of traveling and learning from others who also shared my passion in art.
From gaining new friends that have become family to losing a 3+ year relationship with the person I thought was the one, my journey abroad was one of the most enjoyable and also one of the hardest times I ever experienced in my life. But above all else, it was also the most memorable. As Artist we struggle make things that are unforgettable. As I continue to learn about myself and my art. I hope that one day when people talk about the greats, that you may day think of me.
So to everyone that has been a part of my journey thus far this video is dedicated to you, and I hope that one day you too will have your unforgettable experience

your video was really inspireing ... it sounds silly but it almost made me cry ..

i mean the dream, hopes and risks are big but watching videos like thise and seeing talanted artists have the similar worrys as me and pull though makes me realise that where all human, you just need to keep working..

i've recently had the oppitunity to pull though with studying art which was a risk since i originaly was going to do pharmacy but i really hope it pays off , i just really love art and want to improve but i worry that by then i'll be to old >.< ..
